I borrow the initial image from the cover of Time because any comment on this year I think is superfluous. And this is not the place.

This year, however, I want to tell you all, supporters of the Pozzo dei Desideri, what we have done and how we are preparing for the new year.

First of all, the most important numbers: 4 wells built for about 4.000 people who can drink clean water without risking their lives.
You can see them in the photos below and at this link you can also geolocate them.
This brings the total of wells built since 2015 to 27 for the benefit of more than 16.000 people.
Furthermore, also this year, we have repaired 1 well built in 2017.
In fact, I remind you that for each well built we guarantee maintenance over the years, to ensure that the initial investment lasts over the years. To date, all 27 wells built are up and running.

This year’s fundraising exceeded € 20.000. To date, to be exact € 20.602. An incredible number, especially this year.
Funds that came from donations from private individuals and from photographic events (few) that we managed to make between the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020, before the pandemic.
This is the fundraising campaign that started in June 2019 and will end in December 2020. You can see every single donation received at this link, on the Buonacausa website.

To are, in addition, these funds received from companies.
I therefore wanted to thank the immense effort of Chiara and Andrea di Piantando for the first well we built together.
Thanks to Paola and Gianluca who supported with their companies.
And finally, last but not least, a big further thanks to a well-known Italian entrepreneur who came to know about the project and wanted to support it.

This year we have raised more than we have been able to spend. Not being able to go to Malawi, we built fewer wells than we could do. But all that is left over is ready to be turned into wells as soon as the rainy season in Malawi ends, next spring.

Next year will be a very important year for Il Pozzo dei Desideri.
There will be some important news that I have worked on in recent months and for this reason I have begun to make contact with some realities of Malawi to try to make the project even more effective and inserted in the local communities.
I will shortly communicate them to you.
