One night is enough and good humor returns. Yesterday’s pissing off has already passed and as soon as I woke up one of the first things done was to call the guy Sister Giusy knew and who has an auger. After a thousand phone calls, we agree to advance half the amount (he has to buy the pipes and he doesn’t have the money to make diesel for the truck …) before the start of the work, the rest only with water found. So it is, there were no alternatives. But above all the promise is to arrive in Nsanama tomorrow morning to do the excavation. Will arrive? Boh. Tomorrow is another day. In the meantime, the masonry work of the well excavated yesterday continued in the afternoon. As impeccable as ever, Miya finished the basement on a day of hard work. Now we have to build the well, which we will do on Thursday.
I come to Malawi every year for a thousand reasons and this year I had one more.
There was one well in particular that I had to build. And the well was that of Ngalitche, the one that the village dedicated to me by dedicating my name on the concrete. There could not be a better well to dedicate to my dad and to leave my name close to his here forever in Malawi.
A place very far and very different from the snowy peaks that he loved but that I’m sure he will like.
Hi Giovanni, hello Dad.
