5th June 2018

There is no time to get up that it is already time to go to bed. Here time really runs away in a flash.
Today we spent the day finishing the work on two wells, which are now complete and working! We will only have to wait a few days for the cement to solidify and then they can be used by everyone.
In the next few days we will also build the sinks so that women can wash their clothes directly there.
After assembling the wells, the best way to inaugurate them was to take a shower. By now a ritual to which children and women have to willingly submit!
However, the real inauguration will take place on Saturday when both these two villages will dress up to thank these priceless gifts in the best way. Appointments already scheduled both in the morning and in the afternoon.
Tomorrow we will also finish the others two.
In the evening we finally went to do the survey to the last village that was missing on the list to check the actual need for a well. Even there, no doubt, we will build it, having found a very difficult situation with all the people who take water to drink from a small river.
Now the real concern is for the auger that is not yet found and for which tomorrow we should have a definitive answer from the Indian and the machine present in Mozambique. Or, perhaps, we can use the one just sold but by renting it from the new owner. I cross my fingers, for the moment I can’t do anything but enjoy the times and the unexpected of Malawi.
